Trifextra 79 – A Life in Silhouette

He puts down the money and leaves.

Emptiness. Despair. Doubts.

She turns to the sleeping child.

He wants nothing – just her love.

Once so much hope.

She doesn’t dare dream any more.

These 33 words from my entry into the Trifextra 79 writing challenge. A brilliant photo prompt this week, really had me thinking. Hope I have done it justice.

Thanks Yarn. I put a lot of thought into this one. Went for a story which started in the right hand corner and went all the way to the left. Hope people can see that!

This read poetic to me – I like it! The last line was heart-breaking though. The loss of hope and not dreaming anymore are two things that make life a painful journey.

Thanks Janna. I hope my efforts don’t offend real poets. Actually I like to think of what I did was “proetry” i.e. prose/poetry 🙂

      Appreciate you stopping by.

Thanks for commenting. In hindsight (a wonderful thing) I was perhaps too ambitious trying to get the whole picture in 33 words. Perhaps focusing on the shadows or one character might have been better. However, I was determined to fit it all in and you see the results. Hope it isn’t too jarring.
