Trifextra 89 – Another Day in Hell

We get them:

The ones He doesn’t want.

Murderers, rapists;

abusers, losers.

You think I want to be with these people?

You think I enjoy this?

You think?

…Hell, yeh –

I love it!

These 33 words form my entry into the Trifextra 89 challenge. They were inspired by the Rolling Stones classic ‘Sympathy For the Devil’.

You almost had me feeling sorry for the Devil! Seemed like such a hard life having to take the ones ‘He’ didn’t want. A great take on the prompt.

This gave me a sickening feeling… Not that it is not good, but because of the semi truth that lies within it. To think that people do choose to turn away from a loving God to face eternity separated makes me so sad. God DOES want all….He came to save those such as you describe. But some just decide they want no part of Him. Sorry….do not mean to talk too long, but this really struck something in me.

    Well done, once again. 🙂

Wow! Not sure anything I’ve ever written has elicited such a powerful response. As ever this is just fiction i.e. fun with words. Glad you liked it, despite the feeling it gave you.

I imagine there is a place where these people are respected and liked…I also imagine it’s very hot, loud and a lot of fun for some people. Those people tend to turn my stomach but they make for excellent writing. 🙂

Not sure if those who end up in Hell would necessarily be liked by Mr and Mrs Devil. If such a place exists I imagine those who end up there having an eternity of pain and suffering i.e. stoking the fires of hell and having to watch X-Factor on endless loop etc.

well I guess if they the “Devils’ want to keep their stats up (total useless social media reference for you) they would like to welcome all the truly awful.

I agree about Hell…it’s hot, it’s sad, it’s one Reality TV after another with no remote in sight. 😉

LOL, Great! For a second there I thought the devil was going to say he didn’t like his job. Then you switched it up. Love it. Funny yet with a seriousness. BTW I’m seablackwithink’s fiance. She one of your biggest fans. I too am a fan of yours. 🙂 ::thumbs up::

When I first read your piece, I liked it and found it went straight to the point by contrasting God and the Devil. Was surprised by some of the intense reactions you were getting on your comments. You are handling them very well. I take it as a sign of good writing when it causes emotional reactions in those who read our work. Well done, Paul!

Thanks Tom. When I wrote this I have to admit I didn’t see it as potentially controversial. It’s simply a basic view of heaven/hell and who ends up where (if such things exist). Just as bit of fun which I’m glad you liked.
