Friday Fictioneers – Hunger Pangs

ff140115Two lonely stars glistened in the black, wintry sky shrouding Baltimore. Through a top floor window, watching eyes narrowed as the red-haired woman from the coffee shop paused to light a cigarette.

The dining-room fire crackled – the watcher’s thoughts swiftly returned to the evening ahead. The Dean of Psychology didn’t respond to just any old dinner invite. The Dean was an important man, and he knew it – his mind and intellect almost unchallenged.

The clock above the fire chimed quarter past seven – the Professor was late. If there was one thing Hannibal couldn’t abide it was tardiness.
